| The Clues Worst Gig |
|
| |
|
|
The Clues did a gig at "Kingswood Rugby
Club" some time ago, we were hired on the basis we'd get £100 plus free
drinks all evening. (We were hired for someone's 30th Birthday if I
remember correctly.) |

|
 |
First of all, we
discovered we had to run all the equipment off of one plug socket! Then
before we started playing, a group of old ladies came & sat down RIGHT next
too our equipment, so as soon as we kicked off with a usual rocky opening
number, all I could see was the old granny's with their fingers in the ears
as well as a large part of the audience moving outside - leaving the
younger, drunker audience standing and listening. |
| Since we were offered
"free drinks" all evening I decided to take advantage of this. I casually
walking up to the bar & asked for a triple gin. "#uck off" was the reply.

 |
Then disaster struck,
about 15 minutes into the second set, the drummers bass drum pedal broke,
then (as we were all going off of one plug socket!) the PA
system's power simply failed! |
|
&
then it was all over. |

Kevin: 'Let this be a lesson to you all. Birthday parties & Rugby
clubs are for Disco's, not hard Rockin' bands!' |
