September Festival Set To Reinvent The
Reputation Of Bristol Teenagers
Ask anyone in the street to describe a
teenager in Bristol and crime, drink and drugs are three of
the most likely words to come up. But one youth lead
organisation is set to change that, "Youth today are given
such a negative image, it's about time we changed it and put
them straight" Dan Marks one of the festival organisers
(17). "It's time we showed young people in a positive
light".
Youth 4 Youth is set to showcase an
incredible array of youth talent in Bristol. From acoustic,
R'n'B to Punk and Rock, the event has something for
everyone. The festival, supported by GWR FM, takes place on
Saturday 13th September and aims to play on the
success of last years celebration. " We sold out last year
with over 2,000 people on site, and this year we want to
raise the bar".
"The event showcases over 10 hours of
nonstop youth artists, workshops and stalls". The event
partly funded by South Glos and Bristol City Council is this
year headlined by up and coming band Royworld. "Its just a
great chance for young artists to perform outside on a huge
stage in front of loads of young people, and play on the
same stage as a national artist."
The event runs from 1pm until 10pm on
Saturday 13th September at Kingswood Foundation
in Kingswood, Bristol. Tickets are £3.50 in advance and £3-5
on the door. Tickets are available at Bristol Ticket Shop in
the galleries or on 0117 929 9008.
