Granareunited 10
The legend that is The Granary Club, Bristol, lives on. This year sees the 40th anniversary of the club opening in 1968, and the 20th anniversary of the club's closure in 1988, and the link above will take you to an article that appeared in the bristol Evening Post on April 29th.

As you know, for the last 3 years we have relived those years at regular Granareunion events, and the tenth Granareunited night will take place on Sun May 25th at The Golden Lion, 244 Gloucester Road, Bishopston, Bristol BS7 8NZ (8.00 till late - admission FREE). Al Read, Super-Ed Newsom, Ade (the first ) Copley, and Adrian Coleman four of the DJ's who worked at the Granary, will be playing tracks from the glory days. Some of them won't admit their age, but collectively they total in excess of 200 years !! Please add this date to your listings.

The Granary Club was famous for promoting national & local bands, and for many years  was THE live music venue in Bristol. The list of bands/artists who appeared at the club during it's 20 years reads like a rock roll of honour. As a reminder in alphabetical order, here are just a few of them:-

Average White Band
Barclay James Harvest
Curved Air
Def Leppard
Dire Straits
Genesis
Iron Maiden
Judas Priest
King Crimson
Lindisfarne

Thin Lizzy
Uriah Heep
Vinegar Joe featuring Elkie Brooks & Robert Palmer

Later this year we will start promoting live bands again under The Granary Club banner at The Golden Lion; but for now we simply want to reach out to the hundreds, if not thousands of people, who went to the club 20+ years ago, and invite them, and everyone else for that matter, to our 10th reunion on May 25th at The Golden Lion (admission FREE). It is remarkable what fond memories many of the club goers have, and these reunions are an opportunity to meet up with fellow members, and to reminisce. There's nothing wrong with a bit of nostalgia. After all it is the rest of your live.
