The CD for review is in two parts with part 1 consisting of originals and part 2 covers. The covers are necessary because of the pub venues that the band play and I did like the sprinkle of ‘personality’ that the band injected. However, I will skip over the covers to discuss the originals.

Ye Gods are to metal what Goldie Coloured Chain are to rap, that means heavy songs with ‘interesting’ lyrics. Try this line for size:

“Listen to pop music instead of rock? I’d rather take up a rusty blade and cut off my cock.”

I have great respect for what Ye Gods are doing and that is playing the pub rock venues in Bristol and bringing something quite different to the usual Thin Lizzy covers. I have not seen them live, but I will at the first opportunity.

The original tracks on Full Metal Racket are superb. Heavy like Lemmy with Lyrics that will keep them off the radio, all played with the satire of Spinal Tap.

Topher Icecry (Drummer) suggested that listening to the Ye Gods CD would drive me to dance naked through the streets of Bristol screaming at the moon. Well I did just that and I recommend that you do just the same. Buy the CD, dance naked and scream my hard rocking friends.
