It is fifteen quid to get into the Fleece to watch Wishbone Ash so they'd better be bloody good!
This was my comment having never seen the band before and only having a misty recollection of the albums they released when I was a spotty teenage thug.

There are two original members of the  band line up & two new boys, the Fleece is packed and AFGM have just finished a set that will be difficult to top. So, were  Wishbone Ash worth the entry dosh?

Bloody right they were! They carried on in the same manner as AFGM to provide an ace set that their audience loved every second of. The thing that amazed me was how they made the complex music that they played seem so effortless. The dual guitar solo's that are Wishbone's trade mark were faultless and both Andrew Powell and Muddy Manninen on twin lead guitar were superb.

From the band website I see that Wishbone Ash have been recording and gigging since 1969 and have made 41 albums. That is what you call 'keeping the faith'

It really was a privilege to watch Wishbone Ash at a small venue like the Fleece and in retrospect I think that the audience would have been happy whatever the entry cost.
