The latest CD 'Living a
Dream'
from Sally-Anne Langton has just been sent to
us for review.
Although she has been writing songs since the tender age of nine, it has
only been in the last year or so that she has begun to make large ripples in
the pool of Bristol's music scene. Checking out her My Space site has
revealed a sizeable following already.
This CD contains three tracks, the title track 'Living
a Dream' which I think is probably the strongest song and two others, 'Catch
Me' and 'Gone Away'.
The material is strong with good structure and really good lyrics. My
favourite track is 'Living a Dream'.
Sally-Anne's vocal performance is excellent and her guitar playing is pretty
good as well. The production is also first class.
She is not signed to a record label as yet but I think inevitably it is only
a matter of time and the right exposure. Hopefully the team here at Bristol
Rocks can help with that.
Sally lists her influences as:-
Michelle Branch, Avril Lavigne & Alanis
Morissette. Being an 'OLD GIT' my first thoughts were
'Melanie' & Marianne Faithful' (WHO)!
Listen to 'Living a Dream'
I think Sally is going to be another Bristol success story.
'Watch out' she's coming to get you!
