Gary, a
talented vocalist, guitarist and accomplished front man, who sounds more
like Rod than Rod had the concept of Rods Faces in his head for many years,
but like so many other musical projects his contemporaries have, never got
it up and running.
A brief
meeting with Mickie introduced Gary to his unsurpassed electric / acoustic
guitar skills.. This combined with his rock star looks, unmistakable guitar
style and a low slung ‘original ’70.s Zemaitis’ convinced Gary that he had
found his “Woody”.
Finding
the right drummer, tight, innovative and with technical ability would have
been difficult, if they were unable to not convince Chris, working with one
of the top Status Quo tribute acts to join. With Chris in, the concept
firmly established and core players in place, the next task were now get
other members to complete the line up.
The
live success of Rods Faces would rely on a tight back line / rhythm section,
only a synchronized bass player and drummer will achieve this. Chris
contacted his old mate Gordon, whose variety of styles and awesome drive had
enable Chris and Gordon to jointly deliver on previous projects. Without
hesitation, Gordon, who was living in Dubai, was now in. Upon his return,
initial rehearsals and planning got underway.
With
vocals, guitar, bass and drums in place the final member, the keyboard
player had to be found. Along came Dan. Armed with his keyboard wizardry,
musical; experience, and additional backing vocals, the line up was now
complete. |
