Melon Farmer - Kinetics EP Review

Weirdo is the first of four tracks on the Melon Farmer EP sampler. A high energy track that is most pleasing to the old lugholes, we like this one

Are you for real is interesting because it changes between full and half tempo and develops from a light indie type of song in to a balls-out rocker. We REALLY like this one!

Everything you told me was a lie is also high energy and very good. Melon Farmer have an excellent rhythm guitar sound, it is highly compressed and gives the songs  character. The drums are well recorded which makes a nice change for a demo CD.

Virtual Superstar is another well structured song that emphasises  the style that the band has chosen and that is somewhere between indie rock and metal. This style works very well.

The CD art work is excellent, the front cover is a great eye catcher and the overall production of the tracks is good. Melon Farmer are developing an excellent and somewhat unique sound that must be excellent live. Because of this, we are awarding the band with a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED award and they slip into the Bristol Rocks CD top 10.
