Kashmir - Kashmir |
CD Review by Kevin from Bristol Rocks |

'A Love song' is track one on the Kashmir CD and this track sets the style for the rest of the album. This is loud riff based guitar music. For me this track has the feel of an Oasis album track. It will get played & sound great live, but the best is yet to come.... |

| 'Kashmir' takes the quality up a notch with a catchy riff based song with a surprising half speed middle eight. |

'Loose ends' has a kick ass dual guitar riff that is used much too sparingly in the song for my liking. Lenny Kravitz would have made a whole song out of this riff but I guess the intention was to leave us wanting more... and I do!

'Understand' is the track that shines on this CD, it is a more complex song than the others with all of the components that make 'Brit pop' great and unique to the UK. With an excellent chorus that you don't need to know the lyrics too, because after a couple of pints of Bishops Buttock you will roaring along to the band with the rest of us and "wooooo-oooh" will do the job nicely. |

KY is the track that Kashmir have placed on Bristol Rocks, so you can listen to it by clicking the play button on the left. For me this is not the strongest track on the album, but THAT my hard rocking friends, is what music is all about. Subjectivity. |

Kashmir's CD 'Kashmir' shows that the band have a huge potential. There are moments where the guitar riffs sparkle and the band breaks into Red Hot Chilli peppers territory, listen to 'Understand' and you will see what I mean. As it is this CD shows a band at a mid point in their development and leaves me waiting in anticipation for their next release. |
