Groovegrinder

This band specialise in high energy music that has its roots in blues, but also takes a healthy swig from 70's funk and British rock, all freshly ground up to produce an eclectic mix of great feel-good songs.  Think searing guitar and gut wrenching vocals all held together with an intuitive and solid back line – that’s Groovegrinder

‘The Daily Grind’ is just a simply wonderful album.  I have played it over and over.  The band has a unique sound and is a shining example of how to be an entertaining band. This album doesn't hit you right in the face, it's not immediate.  In fact it is one of those albums that catches you unaware and hooks you in.  This might have something to do with the vocals.  They have a pureness that sits perfectly with the hypnotic guitar work. Timing is perfect.  All controlled by a commanding but subtle drum line that keeps everything rolling in perfect time. There are clearly professional influences at work in this band.

This album has got great appeal. I played it during a garden party.  It went down a storm (Unlike the weather).  Heads were rocking and feet were tapping.  Although none of the songs had been heard before, my guests managed to join in with the last track ‘Get Another Round In’ It was great fun.  No air guitars but lots of ‘air harmonica’ playing in my garden that night.

The CD has been produced to a very high standard and will not disappoint.  If you only buy one CD this year, make sure it is this.
