The Furore

From the front:

Stuart Russ: Vocals and Guitar
Will Slater: Lead Guitaar
Kevin Ross: Bass
Antony Mahony: Drums, got any skins?

How on gods green earth did you guys get together?
Well Stuart and Antony were famously in the band Plan B and after a number of years decided to search for new members who could use their influences to create a new and distinctive sound.

But how did you guys meet?
Antony and Stuart were friends at school and shared a keen interest in music. They started with open mic nights in the Bristol area before forming their first band 'Plan B'.

And Will and Dr Bass?
The northern connection, Will jackhammer Slater was introduced by a friend and became part of the set up after the very first ear devastating lead solo, the chemistry flowed and all that was missing was a strong bass, enter Dr bass Kevvy Kev from up north.

What does the name 'The Furore' mean?
We needed a name that is strong and represented our strong rock roots. Furore is an old word meaning uproar, pandemonium, commotion, hullabaloo, chaos, which we feel describes us flawlessly.

So who do you sound like?
Strong influences from Led Zeppelin, Guns n Roses, Coldplay, Nirvana, Motley Crue, Radiohead, ACDC, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Muse, Feeder, Skid Row , Reef, Creed, The Cure, Counting Crows, Pearl Jam, Manics. Basically strong vocals backed up with a great rockin band.

What are you trying to do with your music?
Our mission is to keep real music alive and fight off all computer generated soulless music, to make music that creates an atmosphere where you can go somewhere else for 3 to 4 minutes. Just come and see, you'll love it!
