Singer/rhythm guitarist Andy Martin, lead guitarist Kyle Hammond and drummer Dan Ryan formed Dead World Leaders in 2004. With the addition of Andy New on bass they have been played on Hallam FM and BBC Radio Sheffield, received some great press and supported local favorites the Arctic Monkeys.

From the outset Dead World Leaders have grown a steady, fiercely loyal fan base through constant touring and various releases. It all started with the limited edition debut EP 'On the Verge' which caught the eye of the public and pricked the ears of the press. By the time they released 'On the Verge' in September '04 a cult following had formed and with support slots with the likes of JJ72 and Snow Patrol their incendiary live shows became legendary. Realising this EP would be no small-time affair, the launch party followed which sold out and their popularity grew to another level.

The band spent most of 2004 touring whilst also holding together day jobs and University. Any downtime was spent writing and rehearsing, it was this downtime that would lead to the next EP.

Eight months later and the long awaited 2nd EP 'Cut to the Chase' (a successful fusion of Feeder-esque vocals and the early glory days of Oasis riffage) was released. Over 500 sales to date the release of the EP sparked off the success that everyone knew was on Dead World Leader’s horizons and spawned the radio-bothering “Long Way Down” on XFM, meanwhile word was spreading as far north as BBC Radio Hull all at the time of Dead World Leaders being nominated for an STV award and going on to play the legendary Guilfest w/ Paul Weller. They were also front cover stars of July's edition of Sandman Magazine, Yorkshire / Midlands based music mag, championed by the likes of Steve Lamacq.

The latter part of 2005 saw the band re-enter the studio to start work on a 3rd EP, only taking a break to support The LA's at the Sheffield Leadmill. Not ones to rest on their laurels, the band penned 6 songs which eventually got whittled down to 2 tracks, that’s a bit short for an EP you say..and you’d be right; as the time had come for the band’s first single. The 2 new tracks Alarm and Pull Me Apart were the result of 3 days holed up in 2Fly studios, they created a record of balls out straight forward rock songs and the songs were debuted to the masses through 2006 at some 20 gigs across the UK. However with the creativity freely flowing Dead World Leaders re-entered the studio again in April 2006 to raise the bar once more and record the final 2 choices for the double A-Side single “The Start of the End Begins/Still I Think What I Think” these 2 tracks are quite possibly the catchiest songs penned by the band; totally in contrast to one another it shows the remarkable depth the band have formed and displays how they will whip your equilibrium into a frenzy. The single is out September 25th 2006.
