Clause 40 is a pop/rock band playing well known covers like the Kaiser
chiefs ‘I predict a riot’ to ‘A town called Malice’ by the Jam. Other
artist’s songs include Tom Jones, Katrina and the Waves, Orson, Snow Patrol,
Huey Lewis and many others.
The band started in June 05 and is made up from members of the Nailsea and
Backwell Rugby club near Bristol.
Andy our soundman. Would like to play but no longer has the time! Several
members of the band knew each other before but word soon spread around the
club that a band was needed to help raise money for a charity function for
the Children’s Hospice in Bristol.
Since then Clause 40 has played several gigs for other charities. The name
was chosen because ‘Clause 40’ is a planning issue that means people are not
alowed on the rugby club premises after 11.30 pm. The committee are fighting
that issue! |
