The Brent Flood EP |
| |
|
The Brent Flood EP was submitted for review, the
CD is intended as a demo and as such the stick on label and
printed cover are acceptable. The CD artwork is as above,
acceptable.
Enough moaning, what about the songs?
Track 1 is called Heavy Petting. This track is exceptional, with
a lyric that could have been written by Jarvis Cocker and a
melody that is instantly catchy with a sprinkling of
excellent harmonies. This track is simply brilliant. |

Burn is another quality track and this one gets
better the more you listen too it. The lyric is more mainstream
but the musical content more than makes up for this. Lifebelt
is a slower track and for me this track should have been left
off of the EP, Brent Flood do melodic up-tempo much better.
As luck would have it, Digging Holes is such a song. Catchy,
well played, very good. |

| The final track is called Beverley
is another quiet one, at least to start with. This song builds
up to a raunchy ending. We like this track. |

|
| If the presentation
of this EP was better, the excellent 'Heavy Petting ' alone
would have got it into the Bristol Rocks Top 10 albums.
Brent Flood are a band to look out for, if they can produce
more tracks of the quality of tracks one & two they will be on
their way.
