Bed & Breakfast Records is a new label in Bristol aimed at cultivating and releasing artists from the South West onto the national stage. Set up by Bristol residents Mark Bowers and Duncan Reid, Bed & Breakfast has started by focusing its attention on two great bands, Underdown and Small Town Mentality. The label is being launched at the South West Sound Fringe Festival, and is going to be hosting one of the fringe events at the AR2 venue (April 25th) where, along with Underdown and Small Town Mentality, we will have both The Francos and The Cuban Heels on the bill.

Already there has been quite a bit of activity surrounding our artists.  Small Town Mentality has done a deal with iTunes - their debut album ‘Monochrome’ is now available for download. Both bands have also had tracks synched into the new Brit-flick Heroes & Villains, which will be on theatrical release later this year, and are in the frame to be used in other prolific British films in 2006. They will both be releasing new EP’s in the next few months (Underdown EP release April 25th, Small Town Mentality EP release June 20th).

In conjunction with B&B we are launching an on-line shop (www.bbrecords.co.uk/shop). This is not exclusively for B&B artists but also to give the best underground acts in the South West an opportunity to sell their wares. The shop has the capability to sell all band merchandise (t-shirts, cd’s etc….), and also the facility for bands to sell download.

We aim to give these bands a platform whereby even without the support of major labels they can compete with larger artists on a level footing. The shop will used by fans not only to purchase from their chosen artist but also to discover and listen to other great bands - thus increasing fan bases for all involved!

The shop will also be launch at the aforementioned showcase on the 25th April.
